Addax: The Range with Impact We’ve all been there, using drill bits and cutters that just aren’t up to the job at hand. That’s why we’ve spent several years developing our Addax range, to produce a high quality power tool accessories range that is designed with professional users in mind. The products in this range were developed over many years, as a result of extensive research to create and achieve products which can withstand heavy duty jobs with difficult materials such as reinforced concrete, stainless steel or porcelain. Our drilling and cutting accessories all deliver a cost effective solution to working with harsher materials. The Addax range includes an array of powertool accessories including: masonry drills, wood drills, metal drills, tile and glass drills, cutters, driver bits, holesaws, diamond blades, jigsaw blades, multi-tool blades, circular saw blades and wire brushes. With so many products on offer, we’ve picked out a few to highlight the key features and what materials they’re designed for.

Deck the lawns with..... Spring has officially sprung and with the Easter break just around the corner, it also means it’s the prime time for decking installations too. ‘Decking season’ normally falls at this time of the year when the daylight draws out longer into the evening and home owners want their gardens prepped for summer. Common issues when installing decking panels with poor quality decking screws include screw heads snapping off, screws ‘camming out’ and wood splitting which can be hazardous to users and can completely ruin the aesthetic of your freshly laid decking. We can’t stress how important sourcing high quality screws specifically designed for the job at hand are. That’s why we thought we would talk you through our top five products, best suited to different types of decking and the construction of the deck.
The Importance of Apprenticeships in the Construction Sector Following ‘National Apprenticeship Week’ which took place this month, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to discuss the important roles that apprenticeships play within the construction sector. With university being the usual avenue to choose after 6th form or college, the value of an apprenticeship goes unnoticed and as a result, there’s not enough young people learning on the job and building valuable labour-based skills - creating a skills gap within the sector. As well as this, vocational training has always traditionally been associated with school students when in fact, it is available to all ages at different levels, from active roles in construction to senior management positions. Official research has found that 12.6% of UK construction workers are from overseas with 5.7% from the EU and 30% of British-born construction workers are over the age of 50 and nearing retirement. The latter statistic is certainly a contributing factor to the skills gap within the construction and this is why apprenticeships are so valuable. With this in mind, it’s important for everyone to have a clear pathway into this line of work with the view that it’s a career to aspire to, specifically for young adults. For those who are already experts in the field, it’s still important to continue to support their skills as they will be the teachers to our next generation of construction workers.
Working at TIMco: Not Just an Employee, a Member of a Family Following Employee Appreciation Day, we’ve been thinking about our fantastic TIMco employees and all that they bring to the business. With employees being the backbone of any business, we thought we’d take a look at some initiatives we have in place to help with motivation and speak to our employees to see what they think. As a family business TIMco has always worked to ensure that employees both feel like an extension to the family and that they each feel valued for the contributions they make, as Alex Jones our Sales Support Manager suggests; “At TIMco you’re not just an employee, you’re a member of the TIMco family”. To support that inclusive family feeling, TIMco has implemented a number of initiatives ranging from hosting a family fun day on site through to providing employees with time off to take part in family activities such as Sports Day or other important occasions. Feeling included, and that your voice counts, is also an important way to motivate and include staff in company decisions. Although TIMco now employs more than 110 people the company has schemes in place to allow employees to express their opinions or share opportunities.
Why your online store needs a wish list

What comes to your mind, when you hear the term” wish list”? The application of this feature is exactly how it sounds like: a list of things that you wish to get. As an online store owner, would you like your customers to be able to save products in a wish list so that they review or buy them later? Would you like your customers to be able to share their wish list with friends and family for gift giving?

Offering your customers a feature of wish list as part of shopping cart is a great way to build loyalty to your store site. Having the feature of wish list on a store site allows online businesses to engage with their customers in a smart way as it allows the shoppers to create a list of what they desire and their preferences for future purchase.
