As a business, TIMCO continues to take the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) extremely seriously. Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of both our people and customers. Over the last three months, the business has continued to find safe, new and innovative ways to help provide continued support to our independent merchants during these unprecedented and ever-changing times.
1.TIMCO Direct Delivery
Launched at the beginning of lockdown, TIMCO now offers a Direct-to-Site service that allows for a faster, more cost-effective process for our builders’ merchants. This dedicated service allows merchants to deliver products to their customers; on their own branded paperwork and all completed by TIMCO.
The company had been trialling the service, but brought forward its full launch to enable customers to reduce time, overheads, cash flow and touch points to the construction industry. Based on a four-line order, TIMCO estimates that its customers can save up to 35.6% by reducing the steps in the supply chain. Two different packages are available but both options come with customer branded paperwork and product codes as well as track and text delivery notification and the award-winning support of the TIMCO Customer Service Team.
2. New Look TIMCO Product Catalogue And Website
Featuring over 7,000 essential products that trade professionals rely on every day, the latest edition of the TIMCO Product Catalogue was made available online during lockdown. The Summer 2020 Edition is now available as a hard copy so customers have easy visibility of the full range.
The catalogue also features a new look; a look which is being replicated across the website to provide a coherent look and feel for the first time. The recently updated site continues to develop with additional Account Management functionality as well as enhanced product information and user experience.
3.Warehouse Expansion
This year, TIMCO has seen the company’s warehouse space grow by a further 20,000 sq. ft to 120,000 sq. ft. The latest addition to the warehousing includes a large mezzanine floor which houses an additional 5,000 picking locations, bulk storage capacity and office space. A red spiral conveyor belt links back to the ground floor where further semi-automation continues to enhance our award -winning customer range of delivery services available.
The company has also purchased an additional four acres of land adjacent to the site which will allow the company to double its storage capacity, increase parking and grow the offices further in years to come.
4. New Products
Over 250 new products have been launched in the last six months alone including: Silicone & Acrylic Sealants, Rivets & Riveters, Staples & Staplers, Fire Door Hinges and additions to the stainless-steel ranges such as Timber Screws and Cable Ties.
Alongside these exciting additions to our core ranges, TIMCO has also welcomed a number of unique collaborations with Energizer Batteries, Metolux Wood Fillers and Goop Hand Cleaner as well as introducing the dual-branded Electrosan 4in1 Skin & Surface Sanitiser and Corefix Dot & Dab Wall Fixings.
Electrosan 4in1 is a Sanitiser, Disinfectant, Antiseptic and Deodoriser. The product uses newly developed technology to stabilise electrolysed water, creating a substance called hypochlorous. This substance naturally occurs in our bodies and has the capability to kill 99.9999% of known bacteria, viruses, moulds and spores in 12 seconds.
TIMCO and the Directors at Metex were delighted to announce a partnership to launch the Corefix range of fixings. Corefix solves the dot & dab wall problem by bridging the gap between board and block, securing the fixing and transferring the load to the blockwork.
Metex sought a sought a partnership with a fixings specialist that had established supply routes into the majority of the UK’s independent builders’ merchants. Metex identified TIMCO as a brand which thought differently and strategically about their own brand, growth plans and the continued desire to offer unrivalled customer service. The Corefix product range utilises TIMCO screws; so TIMCO is delighted to extend the relationship further by now stocking the range.
5. Award Winning Service
Following the interactive Builders Merchants Journal (BMJ) Industry Awards 2020, TIMCO was delighted to have won the Best Distributor Category for the second year running in July.
During these unprecedented times, TIMCO was extremely appreciative and grateful to everyone who voted for TIMCO this year as well as wanting to acknowledge both the nominees and winners across the builders’ merchant industry.
The award recognises TIMCO’s work in developing its range of products and services as well as the support offered to builders’ merchants across the country.
