TIMco enters Builders Merchant Journal Industry awards

TIMco is once again entering the Builders Merchant Journal (BMJ) Industry awards, hoping to take home the trophy for Best Distributor, Industry Personality, and Best Supplier Account Manager. Last year, TIMco won ‘Best Distributor Brand.’ This year, you can help us by voting online!

The annual BMJ Industry Awards were launched in 2017, and are designed to honour both manufacturer and merchants and reflect the varied nature of the industry. As well as providing an essential platform to reward the sector’s leading manufacturers, merchants and individuals, the ceremony is an annual opportunity to catch up with industry friends, colleagues and peers.

The awards are designed to recognise excellence in the given category as well as the support and service offered to customers. In TIMco’s case, last year the company was recognised for the work it had undertaken in extending its product ranges by more than 10% to over 7,000 lines, expanding its warehousing by 30,000 sqft, growing its network of Regional Business Consultants and providing a range of marketing initiatives to support customer businesses.

This year we are hoping to take home a win due to TIMco’s continued warehouse expansion, offering unrivalled stock availability as well as extending the product portfolio and growing its team to its largest yet, to 160 employees. This is whilst still retaining its core values as a family run business that seeks to provide industry-leading support, services and products to its customers.

Simon Midwood is up for the award of ‘Best Industry Personality.’ Under Simon’s leadership, TIMco has implemented numerous ways in which customers’ experience has been improved, such as extending TIMco’s network of business consultants by 30% in 2019, so each customer in the UK now has a dedicated local representative on hand that knows all the details of their business and its requirements.

The new ‘How To’ videos are also a product of Simon’s drive to do more for customers, such as giving them clear, insightful instructions and advice on how to use TIMco’s products best.

The initiatives introduced by Simon are setting the standards for wholesale suppliers and bringing benefits to the industry as a whole.  Each of the initiatives implemented are designed to support business growth both for TIMco and its customers, while also remaining true to the company’s guiding principles and heritage.

Two of TIMco’s account managers, John Gregson and Alex Jones, are up for the award for ‘Best Supplier Account Manager’, an award that recognises ‘anyone working in a supplier to the merchant who regularly goes above and beyond in terms of working with their customers to increase business for both parties.’ We believe we’ve selected the two of the industry’s best.
